This article provides multiple methods on searching for applications on a Windows computer. Google Chrome is used as an example application for each method.


Method 1: Desktop Shortcut

This method is only available for users who have the application shortcut on users' desktops.

Double-click on the Google Chrome icon on the computer desktop.


Method 2: Windows Key - Keyboard Shortcut

  1. Press the Windows key on the keyboard. This key is located on the bottom left of the keyboard between the CTRL and ALT keys.
  2. Type "Google Chrome".
  3. Click to select the application, Google Chrome.


Method 3: Start Menu

  1. Click on the Start menu on the bottom left of the computer screen.
  2. Type "Google Chrome".
  3. Click to select the application, Google Chrome.


Method 4: Search Bar

  1. Click on the magnifying glass icon next to the Start menu on the bottom left of the computer screen.
  2. Type "Google Chrome", where it says Type here to search.
  3. Click to select the application, Google Chrome.
